Cultural Department

We are actively working on establishing a Cultural Program for the reservation and have taken on the tasks of administrating and overseeing the application of the Native American Graves Repatriation Act, Native American Freedom of Religion Act, Historic Preservation, establishment of a Tribal Museum and overseeing the progress of the Paiute language grant from the Administration for Native Americans (ANA).

The Cultural Resources of the reservation date back thousands of years and our ancestors have been in this area since time immemorial.

Cultural Resources do not stop with language, they include, dances, sacred ceremonies with prayers, water, land, clean air. It is our traditional way of life. These were all intermingled and could not be seperated.

Our dream is to have a Cultural Center to house a museum, cultural archives, craft store, and space for Paiute language classes.
