About Us

The Walker River Paiute Tribe is organized under the provisions of the Indian Reorganization Act of June 18, 1934 (48 Stat. 984) as amended, to exercise certain rights of home rule and be responsible for the promotion of the economic and social welfare of its members.

The Walker River Paiute Tribe under this Constitution and By-Laws shall extend to the territory within the confines of the Walker River Reservation as established by Executive Order dated March 15, 1874, under the administration of U.S. Grant, and to such other lands that have been added thereto, or may be hereafter added thereto.

All interested applicants must carefully review the job description requirements for open positions and submit a complete employment application. You may inquire about open positions by emailing [email protected] or calling the Human Resources office at (775) 773-2306 ext. 2315.

A valid Driver’s License or State ID is required. Tribal Enrollment cards are optional for Native American preference.

A DMV report (driver’s history form) is required to be eligible for positions that require driving. You can purchase a DMV report on dmv.nv.gov.

Yes, for positions requiring degrees and/or certifications and licensure.

You must have complete addresses and contact information. The Human Resources office will contact via email in regards to any missing information.

No, you must complete the application and attach your resume, and include other supplemental documents. Be sure to sign the certifications and the release of information section.

You will be sent a letter in the mail, text, and emailed an interview date/time.

Application

Application Procedure Checklist

In order to receive full credit for education and experience, the following documents must be attached to the application.

  1. A Completed Employment Application MUST be submitted by the closing date of the position advertised. Each section must be completed and the application must be signed and dated.
  2. A letter of interest and resume which addresses how the applicant meets each qualification may be submitted with the application. Please do no write “See Resume” on application.
  3. High School or GED documentation, original / official college transcripts from an accredited college or university MUST be submitted with application.
  4. Copies of all and other supporting documentation referred to in the application and job description MUST be with the application by the closing date.
  5. If you are claiming Native American Indian preference, proof of Walker River Paiute Tribe or other tribal affiliation MUST be submitted with the application.
  6. If you are claiming Veteran’s preference, a copy of a DD214 (long form) must be submitted with the application.

  • Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB)
  • DD214 or DD215

Where and how can I apply?

To apply for a position all required documents must be submitted online utilizing the portal by the close of business (5:00 PM) on or before the closing date specified on the Job Vacancy Announcement. Complete and submit all necessary documents to meet the requirements, any missing information will be considered incomplete submission.
