About Us

Walker River Tribal Police Department is an agency committed to safeguarding the lives and protecting the property of the people of the Walker River Paiute Tribe. (Input from CTAS grant) (enforcing categorical crimes for tribal, state, and federal entities)

 You will Call 911 and Walker River EMS will respond.  

Yes anyone can report suspicious and criminal activity by calling 911 or 775-945-2434.

You can apply in person at the Tribal Admin Building or on the internet using Indeed, www.indeed.com

WRPD uses Lyon County Jail as its detention facility.  

Yes they do.  We host programs like the Bike rodeo, teaching bicycle safety, Shop with a Cop during Christmas etc.

They are monitored by a Field Training Officer (FTO).  The FTO will insure the probationary Officer has completed all required task set forth by the program, which takes about 4 months.
